Training Assistance Under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)
The Workforce Connection offers financial assistance (free—no payback) to eligible individuals interested in training for demand occupations in the following industry sectors targeted by the Northern Illinois Workforce Alliance:

  • Business
  • Finance
  • Green
  • Health
  • Information Technology
  • Manufacturing
  • Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics

To access the list of training programs approved for individuals who qualify for assistance under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, click on; then click on Consumer Information to access the Illinois Statewide List of WIOA-Certified Programs.   You can narrow your search to a particular type of training program and a particular area.

To determine if you might be eligible for training assistance under WIOA, click here.   We work with eligible individuals to provide career counseling, training-choice guidance, referrals to training programs, and on-going support during training.

Training Assistance under the Trade Act (Trade Adjustment Assistance—TAA)
Laid-off workers eligible for training assistance (free—no payback) under the Trade Act (TAA) may train for demand occupations in any industry.  Our Dislocated Worker Program with TAA-eligible individuals to provide career counseling, training choice guidance, referrals to training programs, and on-going support during training.  For more information, call us at 815-847-7574.
